The municipality of Kolding is the first municipality in Denmark to have formulated a political strategy for social economy enterprises, and aims to be the growth center for social economy in Denmark. The strategy puts forward that by the end of 2011 there will be 10 social economy enterprises in the municipality of Kolding. In Kolding several activities, including mapping of social enterprises in the municipality, introducing the concept of social economic enterprises to entrepreneurs, advising the local business center (Business Kolding) and the establishment of a network for social economic enterprises, have been implemented. Through these activities it has become clear that there are many challenges to reaching the goal of 10 social economic enterprises at the end of 2011. This project is supposed to support and further the development and implementation of the strategy for the municipality of Kolding.
